Bristol Car Club is a trading name of Bristol Community Transport.
Bristol Community Transport has been operating a fleet of minibuses for not-for-profit organisations in and around Bristol since 1985. The majority of the BCT fleet of minibuses are specially adapted to carry wheelchair users. BCT has a wealth of experience in meeting the transport needs of wheelchair users. BCT is part of the HCT Group.
Bristol Car Club was developed to operate alongside and compliment the existing BCT services. We have seen a growing need to transport individuals who are wheelchair users, and have developed Bristol Car Club to help meet this need. Many of the users of the Club will be existing users of BCT services, whilst many will be new to us.
As a not-for-profit organisation we exist to meet the needs of our users. There are no shareholders waiting for dividends from the financial success of the organisation. Instead, any surplus generated by us is used to help meet the transport needs of the people of Bristol.
BCT is a proud holder of The Social Enterprise Mark. We were the first organisation in Bristol to be awarded the Mark, as well as the first transport-related organisation in the country to be awarded the Mark.
BCT is a member of the Community Transport Association (UK) and provides training under both their MiDAS scheme for minibus drivers, and the PATS scheme as training for Passenger Assistants.
Bristol Car Club has been granted "Full Accreditation" by Car Plus.
